These days there are so many options available when it comes to alternative or holistic styles of healing and lifestyles. But it seems through my own life experience and observation of other people and their individual process that the matter of choice can be an overwhelming sensation.
Where do I start? How do I start? Will I miss a more potent option if I choose A, B or Y?
There are many thoughts and questions that rise up when you are standing at the crossroad where different paths are possible. I learned it the hard way by overthinking and trying many roads. Until the point where I truly opened my heart years later!
The thing is, that no matter what your choice is, all these different options will demand commitment, perseverance and dedication on a consistent rate. Nothing can be taught overnight and when you desire to embody these styles you will need to practice on a regular or even daily basis. You need to embody and practice the insights and knowledge that is given within many traditions. This is the time you have the opportunity to become your own master in life to develop your life path towards enlightenment, becoming a healthier person, a better parent, a martial art teacher, a maestro in the Amazonian region, … You name it, they all demand the same core of settings to learn and master the discipline
For me, it is the path of Amazonian healing modalities and Kung fu! Did I get it straight from the beginning? No! The first issue was finding the right teacher. My style was trial and error which isn’t advisable to everyone. You will be disappointed and get demotivated along the way of your search for the right place to be. And so I was many, many, MANY times over and over. The next challenge was dedications to one specific family line or maestro and with Kung fu it was the style and place. The more I listened to my heart and worked on my mindset, the better I got at navigating my choices from intuition instead of from my mind. Even at the moments where you are pushed through ego death number ‘x’ and the discomfort that will test your will to continue the path that I had chosen for myself often got me to the point of breaking down to rebuild myself over and over to become a better person. Layer after layer, questioning myself; “When will this be over?” Well to my experience these challenges have become more a part of life instead of my attitude that was looking for a finish line to live peacefully forever after. The thing is that it was about getting more skilled in dealing with life. Taking back my power by handling my stuff with responsibility (Which is for me the ability to respond to life).
Now I see that no matter what path you choose, it will always have an infinite number of layers unique to each individual person you will encounter during your lifetime. One day you are the student, one day you will grow into the position of a guide and even maybe a master if you're deeply dedicated to your practice. You become a living example with the wisdom you managed to translate from all the knowledge and training you went through and the path to growing is never ending. So are you dedicated to being a student for the rest of your life?
No matter which way you go, a strong foundation is the first step everybody needs to take if you want to create something sustainable and stable during your life. Before anything else can be put on top of that. Repetition is key to creating this so it can become a part of you. That is what embodiment means. So this is what I offer as a coach and in my blogs from my personal life experiences. I want to help as many people as I can to create their own foundation so they can develop their own road to self mastery in whatever direction you would love to grow. The thing is that none of us learned this in school, a few had a healthy foundation through parenting, but many do not. Is this for everybody? Well I could say no, but actually I would rather love to say yes!
The question is; “How far are you willing to go to become a better version of yourself?”
